Reading list

This is my second official week of college and the books are already piling up. Don't worry though, it's too hot to go outside anyway and this gives me an excuse to stay inside my cool dorm.

1. Plato's Republic - yeah.

2. Everything's an Argument - learning about logos, ethos, and pathos. Who's ever heard of those?

3. Wizard of Earthsea - my first fantasy novel! Yep, it's a required text.

4. Natural Acts: Readings on Nature and the Environment - lovely essays by Dillard, Thoreau, Darwin, etc.

5. Blogs! I'm trying to keep tabs on my friends (Kaylie, Kate, Dahlya, Melanie, Emily) who have now moved across town/across the country. Doing so makes me realize how far apart and yet how close I hope we can stay. Kaylie's desk: pictured below.

Dorm 101

On Saturday we packed up the car and waited in line for 4 hours before moving me into my new home! Still getting settled in and anxious for classes to start, but I wanted to share where I will be residing with those of you who haven't visited.

My bed. Comfy and slightly colorful and just high enough to make me look really awkward climbing up into it.

My three favorite meats! No - my initials thanks to Kate and Martha Stewart.

My floral desk lamp I've had for years came with me.

My crowded desk.

My fridge, microwave, and photo strip from Urban. (Excuse the orientation.)

My MacBook. I added a sparkly bird decal (again thanks to Kate) to make it look as though it is eating the apple.

Let college commence.

Color me happy

Here are two pastel drawings I made today with my two favorite Kaylies. Taking advantage of my last week and a half of summer.

I love the desert. And pretty colors.

I love the city. And pretty colors. And Kate Spade.

Hope you are having a colorful summer!
